Itineraries

DAY 1: Arrival and Transfer to Gangtok

Your Plan

Upon your arrival at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) or Bagdogra Airport (IXB), our representative will welcome you and assist with your transfer to Gangtok. Situated at an altitude of 1,670 meters (5,480 feet), Gangtok is the capital of Sikkim and offers a perfect mix of serenity and adventure. Known for its monasteries, mystical rituals, and vibrant festivals, it is also home to a diverse range of Rhododendrons, Orchids, and butterflies. The scenic drive to Gangtok takes about 4.5 to 5 hours, covering 135 kilometers. After checking into your hotel, you’ll have the evening free to explore MG Road (Mall) or browse local shopping centers. Overnight stay in Gangtok.

DAY 2: Excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir

Your Plan

Start your day with breakfast at the hotel, followed by a full-day excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir. The journey to Tsomgo Lake is around 40 kilometers and takes about 2 hours, passing through the beautiful Kyongnosla Alpine Sanctuary, home to red pandas, blood pheasants, and stunning Rhododendron and alpine trees. Tsomgo Lake, located at an altitude of 3,753 meters (12,310 feet), is an oval-shaped lake about 50 feet deep, and it remains snow-covered for most of the year. The lake is a haven for Brahmini ducks and various migratory birds. Close by is the sacred Baba Mandir, an important religious site. After your excursion, return to Gangtok and spend the evening exploring MG Road or local shopping areas. Overnight stay in Gangtok.

DAY 3: Gangtok Local Sightseeing

Your Plan

After breakfast, embark on a full-day sightseeing tour of Gangtok. Your itinerary includes visits to Ganesh Tok, Tashi View Point, the Research Institute of Tibetology (closed on Sundays and public holidays), Do-Drul Chorten, the Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom (closed on Sundays and public holidays), and the Flower Show. In the evening, return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Gangtok.

DAY 4: Transfer to Darjeeling

Your Plan

After breakfast, you’ll depart for Darjeeling, located about 125 kilometers away, with a drive time of approximately 3.5 to 4 hours. Perched at an altitude of 2,123 meters (7,000 feet), Darjeeling is renowned for its breathtaking scenery, tea gardens, and panoramic views of Mount Everest. The town, also known as the “Queen of the Hills,” is home to several international schools and famous sites like the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, and the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, a UNESCO World Heritage site. After checking into your hotel, you’ll have the evening free to relax or explore Darjeeling. Overnight stay in Darjeeling.

DAY 5: Darjeeling Local Sightseeing

Your Plan

An early start today, with a drive to Tiger Hill at around 3:45 AM to witness a mesmerizing sunrise over Mount Kanchenjunga. On the return trip, visit the Ghoom Monastery and the Batasia Loop. After breakfast, continue your sightseeing with visits to the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park (closed on Thursdays), Tenzing Rock, Tibetan Refugee Centre (closed on Sundays), an outer view of the Tea Gardens, the Ropeway, Japanese Temple, and Peace Pagoda. After the tour, return to your hotel, with the evening free for a leisurely stroll around Darjeeling. Overnight stay in Darjeeling.

DAY 6: Departure

Your Plan

After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Siliguri, New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP), or Bagdogra Airport (IXB) for your onward journey. The transfer takes approximately 3.5 to 4 hours and covers a distance of about 105 kilometers.
